Mary Lou (Engelking) Spearing

Mary Lou Spearing passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Saturday, March 30th.  Mary Lou will be remembered for her generous spirit, love of sports, feeding others, slot machines, horse racing and most of all her family.  Anyone that knew Mary Lou felt her generosity and appreciated her sense of humor.  She enjoyed serving others and did so throughout her life by working with the mentally handicapped at the Southside Work Center, managing the kitchen and feeding the children of St. Jude for many years.  She was most proud of raising her five children and watching her grandchildren come into the world.  She is preceded in death by her parents William and Leone Engelking, brothers Jim (Dorothy), Bill (Dorothy). 

She will be greatly missed by Patrick Spearing, her devoted husband of 57 years and brother Tom Engelking (Marge) . She will also be greatly missed by children Eileen Warren (Andy), Emily, Pat (Molly), Eric (Desirae), Sarah (Joe), and her cherished 15 grandchildren and 6 great- grandchildren.
